As much as I love designing cakes, I thoroughly enjoy it when a couple comes in with an idea of their own. Amber and Ty’s beautiful wedding reception was held a the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.
They incorporated gold and geometric shapes into their decor and I made sure those design elements came through in the cake.
Amber ordered a rad looking geometric cake stand, and triple checked with the vendor that it would be the correct size. And it was big enough — but on the OPEN, bottom side of the stand. I ordered an acrylic disk from Cake Safe, we flipped the stand over, and it gave the illusion that the cake was floating there.
In the end, I think it all worked out for the best and I was stoked to finally see the finished cake!
